What you are looking at is a sad fact of life: a dead squirrel. Right in the middle of a dinner party Beach made the grizzly discovery. Squirrels are relatively new to our area.
The poor thing had a brief encounter with the power transformer for the neighborhood which knocked the power out to a few houses. Beach who is nursing a neck injury is not quite herself so instead of finding the squirrel's passing as an intriguing curiosity she burst into tears.
But as soon as I took the camera out she stopped. Sticking a stick through the fence and flipped her over.
