timber

At the bottom of mile 7 BC stuck his head in the greenhouse cautiously eyeing me on the treadmill.  I thought he looked concerned perhaps about the time, or the distance, or the temperature but when he backed out indicating he was leaving I blew it off.
A few hours later he phoned home to tell me his ETA for dinner.  His voice had the same sort of tone his face had had earlier.

I  was starting to wonder why BC was being so nice then I remembered the last time we "saw" each other this morning he was frustrated w/ what he was working on & threw a tree branch across the family room (don't ask why we have indoor tree branches, we just do.).   And as my luck would have it at the very moment he threw the tree branch I stepped into the flight path. It whizzed past my eye, grazed my cheek, and crashed at my feet.  I picked up my car keys and left without a word, well there was one said and it wasn't Friday.

Needless to say I'm pretty easy going.
